A brief history of how sell and distribute our produce

The Begining

We started out attending the Slow Food Market on Sundays in Stratford and at the same time, began knocking on Stratford restaurant kitchen doors. We would visit chefs on Tuesdays, often with the trunk loaded with veggies and samples, and take orders for delivery. We expanded into St Marys, attending our first Saturday market. Shortly after, we had a booth in London at the Western Fair Farmers Market and began delivering to London restaurant and small independent retailers. Along the way, Kitchener deliveries were added, along with many small markets. In 2019, we began researching and applying to Toronto markets, and a Loco booth was born at the Evergreen Brickworks Market.

The Pandemic & The Pivot

With the greenhouses all planted and ready for our spring harvest, markets closed & restaurants closed, we had to pivot qucikly. Within 24 hours we created a website and started offering home delivery & wholesale delivery of our produce and other goods from like-minded producers, that were also left scrambling to continue business. We offered delivery From Toronto to London, while picking up from producers along the way.

The World Opens Back Up

As things reopened, the deliveries dwindled, restaurants began ordering again and we made the decision to strarted attending markets again, bringing us back to Brickworks in Toronto and ending our online retail store. We then began attending more markets, continuing with restaurant and wholesale deliveries, opening our farm gate store, and offering retail deliveries again, this time focusing on our own products.
